Riardi Genetic Codex- Gradient Mutation
A dominant modifier that alters the distribution of color across the riardi’s fur, creating smooth transitions rather than sharp boundaries.
- Genetic Code:
GRD/GRD: Homozygous Dominant (Full Expression).
GRD/-: Heterozygous Dominant (Partial or Zonal Expression).
grd/grd: Homozygous Recessive (Standard; No Gradient).
Expression Levels
- Full Expression (
GRD/GRD): Controls the entire coat. Both base fur color and overlaying markings melt smoothly into one another, resulting in a unified, blended appearance across the entire body.
- Partial Expression (
GRD/-): Constrained to specific layers:- Markings Only: Base coat remains solid; only the markings carry the gradient effect.
- Base Coloration Only: Overlaying markings remain sharp and solid; the base coat carries the sweeping color shift.
- Markings Only: Base coat remains solid; only the markings carry the gradient effect.
- Zonal Expression (
GRD/-with Variable Modifiers): Restricted to specific anatomical regions:-
Zonal Expression (
GRD/-with Variable Modifiers): Restricted to specific anatomical regions: -
Extremity Fade (
GRD1): Gradient appears on limbs, face, or tail(s).
-
Mantle Shift (
GRD2): Transition occurs strictly along the spine or shoulders (hood/cape effect).
-
Back-Only/Mantle (
GRD3): Concentration along the spine, fading toward the flanks.
-
Belly-Only/Counter-shading (
GRD4): Gradient restricted to the lower chest and stomach.
-
Horizontal Shift (
GRD5): Regional transitions moving from face/throat/chest, stabilizing between body sections (hips, upper legs, lower legs, paws).
-
- Standard (
grd/grd): The riardi has no gradient mutation present.
