Riardi Genetic Codex- Body Types & Fur Types
Master Body Type Hybrid Code Chart
Riardi lineages have distinct genetic codes which dictate body types and therein, fur types are affected. As these ancestral traits originally were dominant within their native subspecies, they express codominantly when brought into hybrid pairings.
Core lineage fur and body type codes are as follows:
- Southern (SOU): S/S genetic code. Regular fur characterized by a dense, chinchilla-plush texture.
- Nuria (NUR): N/N genetic code. Short, dense fur with some plush texture.
- Northern (NOR): N/N genetic code. Angora fur, distinguished by tufted ears, a mane around the neck, and thick long fur.
- Central (CTR): C/C genetic code. Frizzle texture, presenting as a thin, single coat with mild to extreme crimps in each hair.
- Opal (OPA): O/O genetic code. Satin sheen with a smooth, shorter, and soft texture that is naturally suited for a desert climate.
- Ore (ORE): M/M genetic code. Metallic sheen providing a short, dense, and lustrous fur quality.
- Riumae (RIU): R/R genetic code. Scaled skin exhibiting a fine-scaled, fish-like skin profile with no fur.
- Rithi (RIT): Ri/Ri genetic code. Double-coated, plush fur specifically adapted to shed ice crystals.
- Nexus (NEX): Nx/Nx genetic code. Velvet texture featuring a dense single coat that is very short with no crimp.
- Riasax (RSX): RS/RS genetic code. Down fur type characterized by an ultra-fine, highly dense protective insulation.
- Lyrdi (LYR): Structural magic gene code. Blends uniformly across dense, fine pile frameworks without physical texture degradation.
- Ribold (RBD): Earthy structural gene code. Introduces corded block style patterning, and macro-structural anomalies from draconic kobold heritage.
- Aervalk (AVK): High-skies structural gene code. Holds deep ancestral links to the mutable Gossamer (GS/GS) and specific associated patterns.
Hybrid Expression Mechanics
When these base codes cross, the co-dominant interface generates highly predictable intermediate textures. For example, crossing an Opal's satin code with a Northern's angora code (ST/AN) combines length and luster into Silky Fur. Similarly, blending Central's frizzle with a standard coat (FR/NR or FR/SO) relaxes the tight crinkle into a soft Feathered texture, while combining Frizzle with Satin (FR/ST) results in a glittering Curled Satin.
When the skin-centric Riumae scale code meets a fur-bearing lineage (RI/- -), it displays incomplete dominance, yielding a Scaled Hybrid marked by patches of partial scaling interspersed with fiber. This co-dominant pairing system ensures that even the rarest cross-breeding combinations preserve the core traits of both parents in a readable, structured way which ensures successful development of offspring.

Fur Type & Genetic Code Table
This master table registers the ancestral base strains alongside all documented co-dominant phenotypic outcomes. Additionally, the aeryardi gene introduces the following lineage crosses with ancestral base strains:
- Gorreg
SO/AE(orNR/AE) - Southern/Nuria × Aeryardi. Regular fur interspersed with gossamer hairs, producing a distinct wavy effect.
- Angoss
AN/AE- Northern × Aeryardi. Exceptionally long, fluffy gossamer hairs optimized for the frigid stratosphere over ice-lands.
- Frimmer
FR/AE- Central × Aeryardi. Frizzled, highly-kinked gossamer hairs that can sometimes be prone to structural issues.
- Sassin
ST/AE- Opal × Aeryardi. Satin sheen on gossamer hairs. Stronger than Frimmer, creating a highly reflective texture that resembles glass.
- Megoss
OR/AE- Ore × Aeryardi. A durable coat presenting a metallic luster over gossamer hairs.
- Scommer
RI/AE- Riumae × Aeryardi. Resembles a rat tail with scales interspersed with hairs. Velicline production is highly concentrated on the tail, though the tail possesses fewer total hairs.
- Tukkoss
RT/AE- Rithi × Aeryardi. Translates to 'two-coat gloss'. Features gossamer hairs paired with the Rithi double-coat, causing velicline production to express erratically on the tail.
- Govel
NX/AE- Nexus × Aeryardi. The fur is significantly shorter, but velicline concentration on the hybrid's tail is higher than all other crosses, including the Scommer.
Secondary Multi-Hybrid Aeryardi Crosses
These entries track the complex "double-hybrid" expressions when an Aeryardi gene interacts with an already established hybrid fur profile:
- Sillamer
SK/AE- Silky × Aeryardi. A fine combination displaying a silky, gossamer texture.
- Tusamer
TS/AE- Tufted Satin × Aeryardi. A tufted satin base layout with gossamer fibers evenly interspersed throughout.
- Feathoss
FH/AE- Feathered × Aeryardi. Supremely frizzled and tightly-kinked gossamer hairs that end in distinct ringlets of curly hairs, bearing active velicline on the tail.
- Cussamer
CS/AE- Curled Satin × Aeryardi. Completely curly hairs that are supremely loaded with velicline.
- Shivegoss
SV/AE- Shimmer Velvet × Aeryardi. Shimmering, short, plush fur interspersed with gossamer hairs, featuring a highly velicline-bearing tail.
- Mesamer
MS/AE- Metallic Satin × Aeryardi. Blends metallic, satin, and gossamer properties. The gossamer fur ends in a metallic luster from mid-shaft to tip, while the satin effect runs from root to mid-shaft. Velicline production is low.
- Waplamer
WP/AE- Wavy Plush × Aeryardi. Wavy, plush, gossamer fur where the texture expresses like a crimped brush. Velicline production is unremarkable.
- Veploss
VP/AE- Velvet Plush × Aeryardi. Short, plush, gossamer fur lacking the wavy factor, displaying excellent velicline production.
- Glacioss
GS/AE- Glacial Satin × Aeryardi. Satin-sheen gossamer fur that actively sheds ice crystals. Unlike the Tukkoss, it is strictly single-coated, showcasing superior velicline production on the tail at the expense of less dense underfur.
- Scahyoss
SH/AE- Scaled Hybrid × Aeryardi. A complex triple-cross effect[scaled / any other fur type / gossamer]. Offspring are consistently born with full scales over their bodies and zero velicline expression. The hollow, brittle fur grows directly between the scales, creating an intensely itchy sensation when the individual sheds their scales.
- Sparfross
SF/AE- Sparse Frizz × Aeryardi. Frizzled gossamer fur grows directly between the epidermal scales with the same brittle, full-scale shedding effects as the Scahyoss. Additionally, the individual hairs are highly prone to matting due to the core frizzle effect.
- Hyvamer
HV/AE- Hybrid Velvet × Aeryardi. A dense, fine velvety coat combined with gossamer hair and any other background hybrid effect not specified above.
