"You're all so boring..."

Chaos cat template (c) Phoenix (Caitlin Wilt). Character (c) CD Steele.

Name - Vis
Age - unknown
Gender- male
Species: Air Chaos Cat
World: Mardusion
Height - 2'1"
Weight - 13 lbs
Hair - n/a
Eyes - light cyan
Fur- glossy, short orange point siamese
Personality: Vis tries to specialize in being unpredictable and random. For example, on a visit to Earth he once put traffic lights and a statue in someone's bathroom and had the traffic lights flash to each other a message in Morse Code (which was purposely written backwards so it would seem pointless at first).
Appearance: an attractive young-looking chaos cat, Vis is siamese point with orange, tabby-striped markings on his 'points' except for his wings, which are feathered and alternating in orange and white. His eyes are cyan and his fin leather is the same. His fur is a bright white that seems bluish in shadows.
History: born in Mardusion on the Magic Isle just near the Sanctum Dream Squall of Ojee, Vis enjoyed a normal kittenhood- if such a thing can be called normal given being a chaos cat. He soon discovered he could lay intricate ambushes and traps for others to fall into, but became bored- and so found himself face to face with Aki, the chaos cat god, while wandering! Enlightened by what she told him, he soon left the world by her abilities....

Story

Why oh why do I always have to land on my horns? Vis wondered, quite literally upside down with his head-horns impaled in the ground. Aki never said a thing about this !@#*.

Not moments before had he been talking to the Chaos Cat deity who he'd grown up hearing wonderful stories of, having found her quite by accident. Intrigued by her lovely copper fur, he'd inquired- and then gotten curious about this place that he kept hearing her mention. "Star City Dragonry?" he'd asked.

"Yes, I've already sent a few others like yourself out there. It seems boredom comes easily to chaos cats like yourself," Aki agreed.

"Can I go?" he asked, fairly itching with excitement.

Her muzzle split into a grin and her eyes glinted mischievously. "Thought you'd never ask."

And here he was, in an embarassing situation and even more embarassing was the notion that others could be watching. After a few minutes of frenzied back-pedaling in flight, wings flapping crazily, he unwedged his head horns and grumbled, pausing in awe at Star City's hub-shaped station.

Later...

[Attention, all candidates are due to public hatching bay three. All candidates are due to public hatching bay three. Thank you.]

The words ran through Vis like they were magic. From being completely relaxed, lounging on a table and chatting amiably with a few Star City resident dragons, all of his fur-covered muscles bunched up and he was like a tight coiled spring, throwing his all into getting to the hatching bay on time. It was hard going on the unnatural flooring; he wasn't used to turf that wasn't natural grass and soil. After running splatbang into several individuals' legs, he was hit by a realization like a ton of bricks.

HE HAD WINGS!

(Du-hurr, Vis). Spreading his wings wide and downbeating erratically, he finally managed to spiral into the air. Now borne by the gentle breezes, he flapped as hard as he could, looking down at the crowded streets below him.

Splat. George of the Jungle moment; he'd missed an archway he had to fly under and was now laying down senseless on the street, eyes spinning. The only thing he could think of was that he'd be late and never bond at all! Woe be him...

"Hey, isn't that one of the candidates for public hatching bay 03?" a nearby voice asked.

"Sure looks like it, strange-looking fella," another replied. He allowed himself to dangle like a ragdoll between the two as they hefted him up and brought him onto the sands, letting him recover. Once he was settled, they left again.

By the time he had recuperated enough to realize he was awake and not in a daze or dream, he looked around. Wide-eyed, he realized that most of the eggs had hatched! His dreams were slowly turning...

...reality. A lovely little dragonet smirked at him, plopping his tail down right in front of his face. ~Hey, isn't it cool?!~ the hatchling exclaimed telepathically, ~Your name's 'Vis', my name's 'Viis'! What a coincidence! We musta been meant for one another!~ Opening his coppery mouth wide in childish, unrestrained laughter, the dragonet nudged his new bond to the food tables. No waiting around for him!

Vis opened his mouth frantically, but no sound came out, and he knew he'd bonded. After being nudged enough to stumble quite a few times over his own limbs (it seemed the hatchling had more motor skill ability than he at the time) before getting his paws to work. He fluttered up onto the table and the two became fast friends, bonded for life.

Viis!

Vis learned many interesting things he hadn't known during that meal. For example, he didn't know he had a cowlick annoyingly located just out of his reach, which Viis had refused to flatten, insisting that it meant rain was coming and if it was smoothed back a blizzard would break out on his homeworld. The way the food had been spiced was with small basil shreds, which Viis told him gravely meant a lifetime of anticipating being tickled when he least expected it by a tall, dark grump. Vis had joked back that the only tall dark grump he knew was a Water Chaos Cat by the name of Oro, but she had cyan spots.

After what seemed like hours, they headed home, just as the grump had arrived in Star City looking for him.

Years later...

Vis licked a paw, wings twitching idly as he sat on a boulder in the fields in front of his home. He felt as if he'd learned everything in the entire world. He had, according to the opinions of those who lived in Ral'gi'naan's mountain, also become superstitious. For instance, he now refused to flatten any cowlicks whenever they appeared on his fur in a certain direction- otherwise it would snow, and Vis certainly didn't want snow coming to the semitropical Magic Isle.

Viis, his bond, snorted happily. "Your leftmost wingfeather's twitching!"

"Is it?" Vis asked, looking up.

Indeed, it was. "Yeah, and you know what that means!" Viis said happily, lowering himself to the ground. "It's flying time!"

Vis hooted happily and took to the air with his friend. Viis had grown so big that he could fly with his little chaos cat bond on his back, and the days they spent together were hilarious as they tied random events together, and they even made some money on the main island by telling fortunes- which always uncannily came true!

Name: Viis
Bonded to: Vis
Gender: Male
Colour: Sooty Copper
Breed: Mutt
Abilities: Psionics (Telepathy, Teleportation, Telekinesis), Assisted Fire-Breath
Size: Medium
Height: 12'
Genetic Rating: 5
Personality: Viis didn't bond a chaos dragon of nearly exactly the same name for nothing! If Vis is about randomosity, Viis (the dragon) is all about connecting random events together in crazy, unpredictable coincidences! He loves to find logic in completely unrelated things, even to the point of obsessing over it. ~Wow, your cowlick points in that direction?! That means it's gonna rain today!~ He'd make an amazing fortune teller, if he weren't so bloody exuberant.
