Vibrant
Nuria are the first riardi to bear the vibrant mutation- all nuria have it from their nutra heritage. Vibrant enables their eye-burningly bright colors. They can pass the vibrant gene to their offspring. This has enriched the riardi’s coloration gene pool. Without this vibrant genetic mutation, the colors ‘bump’ to the next-closest other colors, such as during color blending.
Riardi who inherit the vibrant mutation but do not have nuria-based colors instead become carriers for it. Vibrant will not express itself until it develops alongside the nuria’s specific colors. Scarlet, glow, canary, citron, lime, chrysocolla, orchid, and berry are the colors which the vibrant mutation activates for nuria.
Activation colors- Some colors become vibrant when vibrant is present with them. These are as follows below. Italicized color names means that the listed color is also a “curious” color (see “Curious Colors”). When active, vibrant changes the color to the corresponding brighter one. When dormant, the vivid mutation does not change the color to the vibrant version, even if the prerequisite colors are present. Ash becomes black. Vibrant when paired with ultra-white mutation becomes white.
Flux with Vibrant may trigger the borealis color into random manifestation. Scarlet, lime, and banana already are vibrant and present themselves with or without the vibrant mutation, as they are established in color ranges. Glow and citron both come from nuria heritage color-blending. Vibrant activates cerulean to become chrysocolla. Lilac fur becomes orchid. Mauve becomes berry. Jade becomes mint. Scarlet becomes rose.
Ultra-bright and vibrant- When ultra-bright is also present with the vibrant mutation, vibrant activates grey and/or ash, and becomes white.
Vibrant and melanism- The vibrant mutation does not clash with melanism. The two co-exist in riardi genetics. However, the vibrant mutation grips the pigmentation much more strongly than melanism’s darkening behavior. The result is a neon-hued riardi with black frost wherever the melanism is present.
Vibrant and Flux- When Vibrant meets Flux, the riardi's base color flips with their neon hue. Their fur turns dark and their fur's mid-shaft to tips turn their neon coloration.
