Ore

Ore riardi were pioneers from the southern population who became settled within subterranean spaces left behind by dwarves, e’lar, and other Intirrians. Their magic, wits, and eye for resources kept them alive. Over time, they came to specialize in metal-working, ceramics, and created many techniques for the production of jewelry, locks, metal components, musical instruments, arms, and armor- most with geometric designs unique to their people. They also have developed eye-wear. Many riardi have been developing gliding mechanisms.

These riardi have the unique ability to grip cavernous ceilings, walk on “all fours” upside-down, and roost as they desire. Their hands and feet-paws have hooked claws and paw pads. They have bioluminescent markings which they can ‘turn on and off’ by willing the glow to cease or resume. Ankle health is of utmost importance.

Uniquely, their “venom” fluid induces metal and mineral overages to their victims. Their bodies always filter out any excesses or pull what they need from their exposures. Curiously, these riardi are able to heal cases of metal poisoning in other Intirrians by absorbing the excesses by their tail-bites, and can later expel it as a more potent form. Their tail-heads thus have cycles of intake/purgation. When the tail-heads have an overage, they expel the fluid with bile and acid, and this will also melt rocks. Intirrians use this to mark new underground territory, and ore riardi are happy to make side income by producing it for them at a price. More importantly, their culture does not revolve around this.
